Special Guest: Travis Utecht & Deborah Humphreys
Travis Utecht is the principal of Willis High School. A native of Sweeny, Texas, Utecht holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State. He began his career at WISD’s Lynn Lucas Middle School teaching history and coaching football, basketball, and baseball.
Utrecht’s classroom experiences also include six years at Willis High School where he taught AP World History and Psychology. He also coached football and baseball for the Wildkats. In 2007 he was named the WHS Teacher of the Year. He gained administrative skills during three years as an Assistant Principal and one year as Associate Principal prior to being named Dean of Students.
Deborah Humphreys is the Child Nutrition Director for Willis ISD. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in Home Economics with an emphasis in Food Service Management/Nutrition. Deborah grew up in a family restaurant business & has spent all of her career in the food service industry. She joined the Willis ISD team in July 2014 having served as Child Nutrition Director for New Waverly ISD for 18 years.
