Marjorie Evans is a Houston native who grew up listening to the best that local music radio had to offer and credits her mother with introducing her to the richness of American and British rock ’n roll, blues, and folk. A graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in print journalism, she has worked for newspapers, foreign governments, non-profits, and small businesses. In 2013 she became seriously disillusioned with the state of rock radio in the greater Houston area and began plotting her escape from the dreaded Top 40. Deep Grooves is her first foray into broadcasting and she brings to it her lifelong passion for all the great music that seldom if ever got airtime. The mission of Deep Grooves is to share the stories behind those songs and the songs themselves with a new generation of listeners.
