Rita Wiltz, executive Director of Children’s Books on Wheels, founded the organization in 2004 to assist families with getting books into the hands of children. 75% of the population served by CBOW is at or below the poverty level. In addition to literacy programs CBOW educates families with health literacy and financial literacy through free tax services, medical enrollments and navigation, and many outreach activities throughout the county. CBOW also partners with the YMCA to offer an after school program in Tamina.
