October 10th, 2015 – The Extension Hour – The Clover Connection

What does the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival Kids Zone and the Forest Service all have in common? They are all part of National 4-H Week community service projects! Your host Caroline Cruz, County Extension Agent was here to celebrate National 4-H Week. Joining our host was guest Savannah Martin, the Montgomery County 4-H Council President and 2015 Montgomery County Fair Queen who introduced the “Give Law Enforcement a Hand” One Day 4-H service project. Check out our 4-H booth at the Catfish Festival Kids Zone on Saturday where you can write a quick thank you note for a law enforcement officer. Scott Perry from City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department also shared with us some of the many fun attractions in the Kids Zone this year. He also talked about some great partnerships with 4-H including after school programs. John Warner, Conroe District Forester with the Texas A&M Forest Service was also a guest today. John discussed the 4-H tree planting service project at Carl Barton Jr. Park to honor the Texas A&M Forest Service’s 100th Year Celebration. The Bur Oak tree will be planted on October 17th at the park at 2:00 pm, and you can stay after the tree planting to enjoy the Trick or Treat Trail starting at 6:00 pm.
